All about labor my baby is due tomorrow?

I am due tomorrow with my first baby and hoping to get some help just on identifying what labor feels like. I was not dilated and only slightly thinning on Tuesday. My doctor scheduled me for a non stress test this Wednesday. She doesn't think that I am going to be having him in the next week based upon my cervix and everything. Basically this morning I was having these really painful stomach pains kinda like I gotta go to the bathroom really really bad but I don't. I talked to my mom and she said it sounds like contractions but they aren't consistent at all so she said it's probably false labor. A couple hours ago I had the same pain but this time it came and went and my stomach got really really hard then the pain kinda went through my back and pelvic as well but it only lasted a few minutes. I've been cramping all day though. So is this just practice contractions? Could my cervix be dilating while these happening meaning labor could be near? I am scheduled on the 12th if he hasn't come to be induced but I am hoping he comes on his own before then. I wish he would come tomorrow but I have had no mucus plug and just a bit of these pains so I doubt it. Thanks so much for any help. It's hard to know whats what with your first baby.
