Help with directions please?

we're trying to go to the beach tomorrow, but none of us can drive so we need to take a train or bus. closest train station to us is newark penn station, i believe, and we're hoping not to pay that much roundtrip but im afraid we're gonna have to. which beach would be best to go to, time-wise and money-wise? we were looking at long branch beach, but we arent sure how to get there, if someone could please tell us what trains to take, how much that would cost, and where to go to from the station, itd be really appreciated, thanks!
